Family Entertainment

Big Kahuna (across street) - Water slides, go-karts, miniature golf.

Golf - The Destin area is a golfer's paradise with green fees ranging from under $30 to over $100.  Numerous local courses include Indian Bayou, Regatta Bay (as you come over the Niceville Bay Bridge), Seascape (east 6.5 mi) and Sandestin (8.7 mi east).  Shalimar (on the other side of Ft. Walton Beach) has a nice reasonably priced course.  For the really budget-minded there are a couple of nice public courses in Ft. Walton Beach with green fees under $30.  Ft. Walton Beach also has a nice Par 3 and Pitch & Putt on the Bay.  It's located on the right just as you get into Ft. Walton Beach.

Fishing - Charter boats at Destin Harbor. Trolling and bottom fishing. Lake at Southbay is a good place for children to fish for brim. Supply your own tackle for Southbay lake.

Pontoon Boats - Rental at Destin Harbor. Drive boat under Destin Bridge and anchor in shallow water just over bridge. Water is less than 2 feet deep. Great swimming and lunch spot. To tour some of the bayous in the bay, rent a Pontoon Boat at Elrod's Fish Camp on Mac's Bayou (turn left past Sandestin onto Hwy 457. 1.3 mi on right.)

Jet Skis - Rental at Destin Harbor.

Bowling - Destin Lanes (1.5 mi east on right)

Movie Theaters (0.25 mi west on right)

Snorkeling - There are several dive shops in the area that take boats out for snorkeling. There are also snorkeling boats located at the Destin harbor docks. If you have your own gear and want to go out on your own there is a nice area on the east side of the jetties. Drive almost to the end of Holiday Isle. Just prior to coming to the last group of high rise condos on the left there is a public access to the beach. You can walk down to the jetties from this point. You'll see other people snorkeling and some of the snorkel boats go to this spot. Be sure to have a Divers Down flag. The coast guard has a pretty steep fine if they catch you snorkeling without one. You can buy them at the local dive shops. Check the tide tables for the best time to go. The water is usually the clearest just before and after high tide.
